Cookie Notice
Last updated: 7 September 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how GUAVAN LIMITED (“GUAVAN”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.guavan.com (the “Site”). It should be read together with our Privacy Notice. GUAVAN applies a privacy-forward consent model: optional cookies are not activated until the visitor has made the relevant choice through our cookie preference tool.
1. About
This Cookie Notice explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which categories GUAVAN may use, how they are controlled, and how you can manage your choices.
GUAVAN is a company incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability (Company No. 80730829), with its registered office at 14 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
Where information collected through cookies or similar technologies constitutes personal data, our handling of that information is also subject to our Privacy Notice and applicable data-protection law.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that a website may store on, or read from, your browser or device. They can be used to enable a website to function, remember choices, maintain security, understand how visitors use a website, improve performance and, where enabled, support marketing or advertising functions.
Some cookies exist only for the duration of a browser session. Others remain on a device for a specified period or until deleted.
3. Similar technologies
In this Notice, references to “cookies” also include comparable technologies where relevant, such as:
GUAVAN does not use a particular technology merely because it is technically available. New tracking or identification technologies should be introduced only where there is a clear operational need and after appropriate privacy review.
4. Our approach to cookie choice
GUAVAN applies a consistent consent standard to visitors regardless of location. Optional cookies will not be activated until you have made the relevant choice through our cookie preference tool.
When you first visit the Site, the cookie interface should allow you to:
Strictly Necessary Cookies may operate without optional consent because they are required for core Site functions or a function specifically requested by the user.
You may change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through the permanent “Cookie Settings” link in the Site footer. We may retain a record of your preferences so that we can respect and demonstrate the choices you made.
We may ask you to confirm your choices again where our use of cookies materially changes, where a material change is made to the consent tool, or where appropriate having regard to applicable requirements.
5. Categories of cookies
5.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for core Site operation and cannot ordinarily be disabled through our cookie preference tool.
They may be used to:
Blocking these cookies through browser settings may cause parts of the Site not to function correctly.
5.2 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies may remember choices or provide enhanced functionality, such as language, region, display preferences or other user-selected settings.
Functional cookies are treated by GUAVAN as optional unless they are strictly necessary to provide a function specifically requested by the user. Optional functional cookies remain disabled until the relevant consent has been given.
5.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies
Analytics and performance cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site and how the Site performs.
They may help us understand information such as:
GUAVAN intends to use analytics sparingly. Any analytics service used on the production Site should remain disabled until the visitor has consented to Analytics and Performance Cookies.
5.4 Marketing and Advertising Cookies
Marketing and advertising cookies may be used to measure campaigns, understand interests inferred from interactions, limit repeated advertising or display more relevant advertising on third-party platforms.
GUAVAN does not currently intend to enable marketing or advertising cookies as part of the initial Site deployment. If this changes, the relevant technology will be added to the cookie inventory and will remain disabled until the visitor has given the relevant consent.
6. First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies
These are set by GUAVAN or by technology operating on our behalf under the Site’s domain. They may support functions such as security, technical operation, preferences and consent management.
Third-party cookies
Some Site functions may involve technology supplied by third parties. For example, analytics, embedded media, maps, scheduling tools, forms or future marketing tools may result in cookies or similar technologies being set or accessed by the relevant provider.
Where third-party cookies are used, the live cookie inventory should identify the provider, purpose, category and duration. The third party may also process information under its own privacy documentation in addition to any obligations owed to GUAVAN.
7. Current cookie in use
GUAVAN maintains an up-to-date record of the cookies and similar technologies used on this Site. Details of the cookies currently in use, including their provider, purpose, category and duration, are available through Cookie Settings.
We review this information when the Site or its underlying technologies change. We do not use a category of optional cookies unless the relevant technology is actually deployed on the Site. Where a category is not in use, it will not be enabled through the cookie preference tool.
8. Analytics
If analytics technology is enabled, GUAVAN may receive aggregated or pseudonymous information about use of the Site. Depending on the selected tool, this may include device and browser information, page interactions, approximate location, referral source, timestamps and network information.
The final production inventory must identify the actual analytics provider and the relevant cookies or similar technologies. No analytics script should load before the visitor has consented to the Analytics and Performance category.
9. Embedded third-party content
The Site may in future include embedded third-party content such as video, maps, social-media content, scheduling tools, external forms or interactive features.
Where such services use non-essential cookies or similar technologies, they should be configured so that the relevant content or tracking does not activate until the required choice has been made. Where appropriate, a privacy-preserving placeholder may be displayed until consent is given.
10. International data processing
Some cookie, analytics, hosting or technology providers may process information outside Hong Kong. Where this occurs, information may be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction.
GUAVAN seeks to apply appropriate privacy and security measures having regard to the service, the information involved and the applicable law. Further information about international transfers is contained in our Privacy Notice.
11. Retention and expiry
Different cookies remain active for different periods. A session cookie ordinarily expires when the browser session ends. A persistent cookie remains for a specified period unless deleted earlier.
The production cookie inventory should state the duration applicable to each cookie. GUAVAN does not intend to use indefinite persistent cookies without a documented operational justification.
Information generated through cookies may be retained separately from the cookie itself in accordance with the relevant provider arrangement and GUAVAN’s data-retention practices.
12. Changing or withdrawing your choices
You may review or change your cookie preferences at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the Site footer.
When consent is withdrawn, GUAVAN will stop activating the relevant optional cookies from that point forward. Where technically practicable, optional cookies controlled by GUAVAN should also be removed or expired. Cookies controlled by third parties may need to be deleted through the relevant provider mechanism or browser settings.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
13. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies, or to receive warnings before cookies are stored. Controls vary between browser providers and devices.
If you block Strictly Necessary Cookies through your browser, some Site functions may not operate correctly.
14. Do Not Track and browser privacy signals
Browsers and devices may offer privacy signals or settings intended to communicate tracking preferences. Technical standards and legal treatment of such signals continue to evolve. GUAVAN may respond to recognised browser or device privacy signals where technically supported and appropriate.
Regardless of such signals, optional cookies on the Site should remain subject to the cookie preference choices described in this Notice.
15. Changes to this Cookie Notice
We may update this Notice if the Site changes, technologies are introduced or removed, service providers change, applicable requirements develop, or our privacy practices evolve.
The latest version will be published on the Site together with the “Last updated” date. Material changes to optional cookie use should also be reflected in the cookie preference tool and, where appropriate, may require visitors to make a new choice.
